Funhouse Design
A subsidiary of Philips
This development house was assembled in 1991 when producer Sarina Simon approached puzzle game designer Cliff Johnson, whose Hypercard prototypes were green-lit to produce three multimedia titles for the Philips CD-I platform with a $4 million budget. Only problem -- no staff! In addition to Cliff, its eight core members ("FunHeads") included Gordon Brooks, Paul Mithra, Brian Allgeier, Doran Fish, Brad Parker, Kelly Holthaus, and Clayton Wishoff, with all musical duties for all three games falling to Jim Andron. At its peak Funhouse employed "over 30 artists, animators, and programmers."Then by 1995 it was all over.
